Ben Wright är utbildad vid Ballet Rambert School. Som dansare har han arbetat med koreografer som Mark Morris, Christopher Bruce, Angelin Preljocaj, Stephen Petronio och Russell Maliphant och har dansat med kompanier som London Contempory Dance Theatre, Richard Alston Dance Company, Amanda Miller´s Pretty Ugly Dance Co, Ricochet Dance Company och Adventures in Motion Pictures. Ben Wright gjorde rollen som Prinsen i Matthew Bournes uppmärksammade Svansjön i Londons West End, på Broadway, i Japan och Los Angeles.

Numera arbetar Ben Wright huvudsakligen som koreograf och till hans arbeten hör bl a Tobias and the Angel, Sisters Such Devoted Sisters och Almost. Han har vunnit Jerwood Choreographic Award och The Bonnie Bird Choreographic Prize samt tilldelats Nesta Fellowship stipendium för att undersöka nya förhållanden mellan koreografi, regi och film.

Ben Wright is an independent choreographer and performer working in contemporary dance, Opera and Theatre. In 2008 he launched his own company bgroup (www.bgroup.org.uk) creating JUST AS WE ARE, THE DIMINISHING PRESENT, THIS MOMENT IS YOUR LIFE (A Bloomberg Place Prize commission) and most recently ABOUT AROUND for the ensemble.

Ben Wright has directed THE WALK FROM THE GARDEN, the premiere of a Jonathan Dove opera for Salisbury Festival; AN AUDIENCE WITH ADRIENNE; A NIGHT AT THE OPERA for the 2009 Bayerische Staatsoper Festival and was co-director and film maker for AN EVENING WITH ADRIENNE at Drill Hall and 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Performer
As a performer Ben toured the US in SINNER for Stan Wont Dance and has worked for Adventures in Motion Pictures, Ricochet, London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Richard Alston and Amanda Miller’s Company: Pretty Ugly. In 1995 he created the role of the Prince in Matthew Bourne’s SWAN LAKE performing throughout the UK, London’s West End, Los Angeles, Broadway, Japan and Korea. Ben also created the part of the Golden Monkey in the original production of HIS DARK MATERIALS at The National Theatre.
Future work includes new works for Ludus Dance company and Verve.
