Guiseppina Bridelli Italian mezzosoprano

Born in Piacenza, 1986/01/30. Conservatory ”Giuseppe Nicolini” of Piacenza – Diploma in Singing IULM University of Milan – Degree in Communication and Management of Art and Culture Markets Born in Piacenza, Giuseppina gets the Diploma with 10/10 marks and “laude”at 21 years old, attending Prof. Maria Laura Groppi’s course at Conservatory “Giuseppe Nicolini” of Piacenza.

In 2007 Giuseppina won the As.li.co International Singing Competition getting her debut at only 21 as Despina in “Così fan tutte” conducted by Diego Fasolis. In the same year she sang “The fairy queen” by H.Purcell and “La Tempesta” by J. Sibelius ( as Ariel) at the Teatro Sociale of Como.

Winner of several international singing competition such as Froville baroque singing competition 2012 (2°prize), Renata Tebaldi singing competition 2013 (3°prize), “F.Provenzale” competition (1°prize) 2012, S.Moniuszko singing competition 2013 (2°prize), since 2008 she has joined the “Scuola dell’Opera italiana” of Bologna.

Here she attended masterclasses of artists like Raul Gimenez, Sonia Ganassi, Francisco Ariza, Sonia Prina, Bruno Bartoletti, Dolora Zajick, and many others.

Dal 2008 è regolarmente ospite del Teatro Comunale di Bologna dove interpreta i ruoli di Enrichetta di Francia (“I Puritani”), Lucia (“La gazza ladra”), Flora (“La traviata”), Tisbe (“La Cenerentola”), Mercedes (“Carmen”) , Zerlina in “Don Giovanni” collaborando con direttori del calibro di M. Mariotti, R. Abbado, J. Cura,  R. Sonoda, e registi come

Nel 2010 sempre a Bologna debutta con successo il ruolo di Idamante nell’“Idomeneo” di Mozart, diretta da M. Mariotti e con la regia di D.Livermore. E’ inotre stata Fidalma in “Il matrimonio segreto” allo Stresa Festival 2010.

Since 2008 she has been regularly working for Teatro Comunale di Bologna where she rendered significant roles: Enrichetta di Francia in “I Puritani”, Lucia in “La gazza ladra”, Flora in “La traviata”, Tisbe in “La Cenerentola”, Mercedes in “Carmen” and Zerlina in “Don Giovanni” , working with conductors such as M. Mariotti, J. Cura, R. Abbado, R. Sonoda, and under the direction of P.L.Pizzi, A.Antoniozzi, P.Alli, D.Abbado.

In  2010 still in Bologna she made the important debut as Idamante in Mozart’s “Idomeneo” with Francesco Meli as title role, conducted by M.Mariotti and directed by D.Livermore. She has been Fidalma in “Il matrimonio segreto” at the  Stresa Festival 2010.

Very versatile and curious about every repertoire, she also excels in contemporary and chamber music.

She sang Phaedra (Britten) Cinque frammenti di Saffo (L. Dalla Piccola) e i Ruckert Lieder (Mahler) in Bologna, Das Knaben Wunderhorn (Mahler) and the monologue “Le Bel indifferent” (Tutino) at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in 2010. She ha salso been Angela in the “Estaba madre” (L. Bacalov) conducted by the composer in Udine, Trieste and Forli.

Giuseppina is very familiar and has a natural ease, good taste and style for the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries repertoire from Monteverdi to Handel, Haydn and Mozart, as well as for the baroque opera.

She is often invited to several festivals and opera productions.

Among the festivals where she recently performed, we highlight: Innsbruck Festwochen (Ottavia in “L’incoronazione di Poppea”), Festival de St.Michel Thierache, Eglise des Billets in Paris and Unione Musicale in Torino (“Florilege italien” with Auser Musici conducted by da Carlo Ipata),  Opera Barga and Associazione Scarlatti in Napoli (Clori in “Gli Equivoci nel Sembiante” by Scarlatti, Auser musici), Festival de Froville ( “Le muses de Vivaldi” with Concert de l’hostel de dieu conducted by da F.E. Comte), Vicenza Teatro Olimpico (I musicali Affetti), Center for baroque music Antica Pietà de’ Turchini (“Una musa per Metastasio”, with Concerto de Cavalieri conducted by M. Di Lisa), Venetian Center for Baroque Music, Ambronay (“Teatro de sensi” Cappella Mediterranea).

She also sang Flora in L’incoronazione di Dario (Vivaldi) with Ottavio Dantone and Accademia Bizantina at the Festival de Beaune and the Bremen festival 2013, with recording Naïve.

In 2012 she made her debut as Flora in “La Traviata” at San Carlo Theatre in Naples (with tournee in Hong Kong), and she returned again as Third Nymphe in “Rusalka” in 2013. She has been Zaide in “Turco in Italia” at the Opera de Nantes et Angers (December 2013), Ernesto in  Haydn “Il mondo della luna” at Opera de Montecarlo (march 2014) conducted by J. Rhorer, Ippolita in “Elena” by Cavalli at OperA de Lille and Lisbone (April 2014), with La Cappella Mediterranea and L.G. Alarcon.

Recent redentions include Despina in “Così fan tutte” at Teatro Comunale of Bologna (June 2014) conducted by M. Mariotti, Asteria in Gasparini’s “Bajazet” with Auser Musici at Festival Opera Barga, recorded by Glossa, Orontea in Cesti’s “Orontea” at the Innsbruck Festwochen (August 2014), Zaida at the Opera de Luxembourg and “Die zauberflote” in Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

She also sang at the “Premio Celletti” at the Festival della valle d’Itria 2014 in a Rossini concert conducted by F.Luisi, “Mysterium” by Nino Rota at the Auditorium in Milano with orchestra Verdi (recording EMI), and “Les Mozart de l’opera” at Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris.

In 2014-2015 season she succesfully sang Sesto in “La clemenza di Tito” in Opera de St Etiienne, she has been Amore in  “Orfeo e Euridice” by Gluck at San carlo in Napoli, Corinna ne “Il viaggio a Reims” at the Rossini Opera Festival, Despina at the Teatro del Maggio musicale fiorentino

Ha inciso per Naive, Glossa, Deutsche Grammophone, Tactus, Emi.

Recently she sang again Flora ne “La traviata” conducted by Nello Santi, Mercedes in “Carmen” conducted by Z. Metha at the Teatro San Carlo in Napoli. She successfully made her debut as Poppea in “Incoronazione di Poppea” with La venexiana conducted by C.Cavina in Opera rara in Krakow, for the festival Opera Rara.

in the 2016 season she will be Asterio in Orfeo by Luigi Rossi at Opera de Nancy and Versailles conducted by Raphael Pichon,  Minerva ne “La guerra de los gigantes” at the teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid conducted by L. G. Alarcon, Selene in Berenice by Handel at Gottingen Handel Festival with La nuova Musica conducted by D.Bates, and later Cherubino in “Le nozze di Figaro” in Napoli and Sweden.

In concert she will sing again with Cappella Mediterranea (in Gand and Saint-denis) and Accademia Bizantina, and she will also sing “les nuits d’ete” by Berlioz at Philarmonie de Luxwmbourg

She recorded for Naive, Glossa, Deutsche Grammophone, Tactus, Emi.
