Peter Valentovic born in Slovakia, began his career as concert pianist and repetiteur. Studied in Paris and Vienna where he got Viktor-Bunzl bursary for exceptional artistic talent. He conducted Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Pasquale, Die Kluge, Cunning little Vixen at Music University in Vienna. He was a singer and assistant of Erwin Ortner in Arnold Schönberg Choir and pianist of Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna. He worked as repetiteur in Opera Bastille and Théåtre du Chatelet, where he worked with John Elliot Gardiner.

Peter Valentovic made symphonic debut with Slovak Philharmonic and also worked with Janäcek Phillarmonic, Cape Philharmonic and Welsh National Orchestra. He conducted Nabucco, Cavalleria Rusticana, Gianni Schicchi, Rusalka, Porgy & Bess in Cape Town and Show Boat in Nürnberg.
In Norrlandsoperan he conducted Fliegende Holländer and made his debut in Istanbul with Elektra. He will conduct La Rondine in Istanbul and Tote Stadt in Ankara. He speaks English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Czech.
Born 1980 in Slovakia, as a young pianist he won several national piano competitions and began his musical career as a concert pianist and vocal coach. He studied conducting with Leopold Hager at Music University in Vienna and with Zsolt Nagy at the Conservatoire National Superiéur in Paris.
He conducted first opera Le Nozze di Figaro at the age of 21 at University of Music in Vienna where he also conducted Don Pasquale, Die Kluge, The cunning little Vixen. During his studies in Vienna he was awarded with „Viktor Bunzl Bursary“ for an exceptional artistic talent.
2003 besides his engagements as vocal coach at the Opéra Bastille and Théâtre du Chatelet (Les Troyens) in Paris he collaborated with John Elliot Gardiner. As assistant of Zsolt Nagy by Festival of Contemporary Music Ostrava Days (Czech Republic) he conducted the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra.
Peter Valentovic was chorus master and resident conductor in Cape Town Opera in South Africa where he extended his repertoire with Nabucco, Cavalleria Rusticana, Gianni Schicchi, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rusalka and Porgy and Bess as well as more symphony concerts and oratorios. Afterwards he became resident conductor of Istanbul State Opera.
2004 he conducted for the first time the Slovak Philharmony, more engagements followed amongst others Verdi Requiem. He is also regular guest at the Slovak National Opera and State Opera Kosice where he the conducted the premiere of Rigoletto.
Peter Valentovic was a head of the music staff at Tiroler Festspiele and in Teatro Comunale Bolzano. His repertoire incudes many symohony works and oratoros across italian operas (as Don Pasquale, La Rondinge, I Capuleti ed i Montechi, Aida, La Traviata) to the big german works as Fidelio, Flying Dutchman, also Elektra und Salome from Richard Strauss.
Peter Valentovic also worked with SWR Freiburg, Welsh National Orchestra, Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano and Trento, Orchestra Toscanini Parma, Malmö Opera Orchestra, Norrlandsoperan Orchestra (Sweden). In Vienna at the State Opera he was 2012 responsible for the new production of Janáček´s From the house of the dead (cond: Franz Welser-Möst) and in September 2013 he will make his conducting debut in Vienna with the Gala concert Edita Gruberova in Theater an der Wien.
