Rodion Pogossov is widely known for his stage acting and energetic character portrayal. He regularly sings at the MET, New York and previous engagements have included Il barbiere di Siviglia, Die Zauberflöte and Don Pasquale. Rodion also regularly collaborates with the Hamburgische Staatsoper, where in the past he has sung Faust (Valentin), Don Carlos (Posa) and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia).

Also competent on the concert platform, Rodion’s highlights from previous seasons include; Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestras as well as giving a recital of Mahler’s Lieder und Gesänge in Suntory Hall, Japan. Rodion has appeared at the MET for Così fan tutte, made his debut in the title role in Don Giovanni for Oviedo Opera, his LA Opera debut as Papageno (Die Zauberflote) and sung Il barbiere di Siviglia for Palm Beach Opera and the Bayerische Staatsoper.

His solo recital disc for the prestigious EMI Debut Series received great acclaim, which will shortly be followed by a disc of Rachmaninov songs with pianist Iain Burnside released on Delphian Records in February 2014.

He has most recently sung Marcello in La Boheme at the Michigan Opera Theatre and will sing Pagliacci at the MET, Adelson e Salviniwith Opera Rara, Carmina Burana with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and make his role and house debut as Lescaut in Manon Lescaut with the Bayerische Staatsoper this season.
