A versatile and compelling stage performer, Charlotte Hellekant’s repertoire ranges from the baroque to contemporary classics. Recent performances include her role debut as Clairon (Capriccio) at La Monnaie, Lili Boulanger’s Faust et Hélène cantata with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Judith (Duke Bluebeard’s Castle) at Bergen International Festival, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 with the Orchestre National de France. Also Berio Folk Songs with Los Angeles Philharmonic and Norrköping Symphony Orchestra in performances conducted by Martin Fröst.

Charlotte Hellekant’s vocal expressiveness and strong stage presence are just two of the qualities which have helped her build a career. Which is equally successful on both the opera stage, and concert platform and in repertoire ranging from the baroque to contemporary classics.

America and Europe

She has appeared on stage on both sides of the Atlantic, notably at The Metropolitan Opera, Opéra national de Paris and Glyndebourne Festival. Recent lyric roles include Charlotte (Werther) with Deutsche Oper Berlin and Carmenwith Royal Swedish Opera. Outstanding Handel interpretations include Ino (Semele) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) under Marc Minkowski for Opernhaus Zürich.

She has sung the roles of Judith in Duke Bluebeard’s Castle in concert at the Bergen Festival under Edward Gardner, Marguérite (La damnation de Faust) at the Salzburger Festspiele. Last season she performed in Sasha Waltz & Guests’ new staging of L’Orfeo under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado.

Concerts engagements

Concert engagements in the current season include a solo recital at the Macau Festival. Mahler Symphony No.2 with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra under Lan Shui. Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass with the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España under Xian Zhang.
