em>Hanne Fischer graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 1993. She was assigned to the opera in Kiel between 1993 -97 and she made her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival, where she sang La Clemenza di Tito in 1995, and Isolier in Le Comte Ory of Rossini in 1997 & 1998.

She has guested the Operahouses in Bonn, Ghent, and Antwerp, Staatsoper Hamburg and Staatsoper Berlin. In 2002 she made her debut in at the Theatre des Champs-Elysee as the Fox Janáceks The cunning little Vixen.

The same year she was nominated for a Grammy, for the role of “Offred’s Double” in the CD-Production of the world premiere of Poul Ruders’ The Handmaid’s Tale.

On the opera stage, she worked with renowned directors such as Robert Carsen, Andreas Homoki, Guy Joosten, Phillyda Lloyd,  Jerome Savary and David McVicar and conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Giancarlo Andretta, Christian Badea, Daniel Barenboim, Andrew Davis, Mark Elder, and Mark Minkowski.

Also in the concert area Hanne Fischer sang with many leading European orchestras and conductors such as Manfred Honeck, Michael Jurowski, Ton Koopman, Susanna Mälkki, Leif Segerstam, Michael Schönwandt, Yuri Temirkanov and Alexander Vedernikov.
In London, sang with the BBC Sinfonieorkester in the concert performance of “Le grand Macabre” at the large “Homage for Ligeti 2003″ and in 2005 she sang Mahlers „The Song of the Earth” with the RSB in the Konzerthaus Berlin.

Hanne Fischer was the “first voice to hear” at the Openingconcert of the new Opera House in 2005 in Copenhagen, where she performed the “Sonnet 8 of Shakespeare” written and dedicated to her by Poul Ruders. Later that year she made her debut in Copenhagen as Charlotte in Guy Joostens production of Werther under the leadership of Marc Soustrot, and as Penelope in “The return of the Ulysses” directed by David Alden and with Bo Skovhus as Ulysses at her side.

In 2006 she performed the first performances of two other Shakespeare Sonnets by Poul Ruders at the Danish Radio Concert Hall. In 2007 she gave her debut Fricka in a new performance of Das Rheingold staged David McVicar in Strasbourg, in 2008 she made her debut in the role of Ottavia in “L´Incoronazione di Poppea” in Copenhagen and later as Fricka in Walküre in Strasbourg – both staged by David McVicar.

Sep. 2010 Hanne Fischer sang the part of Kathy (played by Catherine Deneuve in the movie) in the opera world premiere of Lars von Triers “Dancer in the Dark”, composed by Poul Ruders and directed by Kasper Holten at the Opera in Copenhagen. The production went to New York and is to find on DVD

In 2011 she sang her first Waltraute in David McVicars new production of “Göttedämmerung” with Marko Letonja as the conductor in Strasbourg with huge success. Later that year she was on the stage with José Cura by her side, as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana.

In 2012 she worked with David Freeman who created a stageversion of Messiah (Händel) for the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, she sang her first Messa di Requiem (Verdi) and her next debut will be the role of Carmen in January 2013 in David McVicars production in Copenhagen.

Hanne Fischer is featured in many productions for radio, television and numerous of CD recordings demonstrate her talent –  among others The Hand Maid’s Tale by Poul Ruders (dacapo 2000 – Grammy Nominee) and Tatjana rediscovered opera by Franz Lehár with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (CPO 2002); Rilke Lieder (DACAPO 2012) and more DVD’s: The Ring (Wagner) and Dancer in the Dark (Ruders)

She has received numerous awards and scholarships, such as: Vilhelm Herold Prisen 1989, Noilly Prats Musiklegat 1993, Elisabeth Dons Mindelegat 1995 and the Danish Critic Award 2004 for her Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito in the production of David McVicar.

In November  2007 she received a big award of Honour from the Royal Danish Orchestra  the ”KS Holger Bruusgaards Prize” for her noble voice and in 2010 the prestigious danish “Aksel Schøitz memorial Prize” for her liedinterpretation.
