Kristina Mkhitaryrian ble uteksaminert fra Galina Vishnevskaya Theatre Studio i Moskva i 2004. Fra 2004 til 2008 studerte hun med Ruzanna Lisician på Gnesinss Music College. Senere fortsatte hun sine studier ved Gnesin Academy of Music. Fra 2012 har Kristina vært tilknyttet Bolsjoi-teatrets program for unge kunstnere.

Kristina Mkhitaryrian har siden 2009 vært solist ved Gnesin Opera Studio, hvor hun har sunget Lauretta i Gianni Schicchi, Musetta i La bohème og Norina i Don Pasquale. I løpet av sesongen 2011/12 har Kristina turnert Spania og Tyskland med Galina Vishnevskaya-teateret. I 2011 sang hun også på Peregrinos Musical Festival i Santiago de Compostela. Kristina har jobbet med kjente dirigenter som Mikhail Granovskij, Guerassim Voronkov og Jan Latham-Koenig.

Sångtävlingar

I 2012 kom Kristina Mkhitaryrian på tredjeplass i Francisco Vinas’ 49th internasjonale sangkonkurranse i Barcelona. Samme år kom hun på andreplass i sangkonkurransen Obukhova i Lipetsk og ble en av finalistne i Hans Gabor Belvedere International Competition i Wien. Februar 2013 debuterte hun med Moskvasolistene under ledelse av Yuri Bashmet. Samme år vant hun 1. prisen i Dronning Sonja Internasjonale Musikkonkurranse.

Bolshoi

Kristina Mkhitaryrian har sunget rollen Xenia i Boris Godunov og Førstedame i Tryllefløyten ved Bolsjoi-teatret. Denne sesongen var hun tilbake ved Bolsjoj, der hun sang Prilep i Spar dame, Gilda i Rigoletto, Brigitte i Iolanta og var stemmen fra himmelen i Don Carlos. På konsertfronten har hun sunget med Trondheim Symfoniorkester under deres nyttårskonserter i Olavshallen. Hun ga også en konsert under Festspillene i Bergen.

A graduate of the Galina Vishnevskaya Theatre Studio,  Moscow, Kristina went on to join the Young Artist Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre where she reamins a studio artist. She has won many awards including 2012, taking 3rd place at the Francisco Vinas 49th International Singing Competition in Barcelona, 2nd prize at the Obukhova Singing Competition in Lipetsk and becoming a finalist at the Hans Gabor Belvedere International competition in Vienna.

In 2013, Kristina was awarded first prize at the Queen Sonja International Music Competition, Norway and also received third prize at the Neue Stimmen Competition held in Gutersloh in October 2013.In February 2013, she made her debut with The Moscow Soloists Orchestra in Sochi, Russia, under the baton of Yuri Bashmet singing Vivaldi’s Gloria and has worked with other conductors such as Mikhail Granovsky, Guerassim Voronkov and Jan Latham-Koenig to name a few.

Previous significant roles have included; First Lady in Die Zauberflote at the Bolshoi Theatre, Prilep (Queen of Spades), Brigitte (Iolanta), The Voice from Heaven (Don Carlos)
Engagements this season and beyond include Rigoletto and Don Pasquale at the Bolshoi, Lauretta in Puccini’s Il Trittico at the Royal Danish Opera and Giulietta in Capuleti e Montecchi at the Bergen Opera.
