Lina Tetrashvili made her professional operatic debut as Antonia in Les contes d’Hoffmann with the Staatstheater Stuttgart. Her performances were so well received that Opernwelt hailed Lina as “one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.” More overseas success continued in performances with Oper der Stadt Köln and Malmö Opera, respectively.

While in the Oper der Stadt Köln ensemble, Lina performed the roles of Micaela in Carmen, Antonia, Mimi in La bohème, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Arminda in La finta giardiniera, and her critically-acclaimed Nedda in Christopher Alden’s production of I Pagliacci. Ms. Tetruashvili spent the 2003/04 season performing in Stein Winge‘s new production of La bohème, alternating in performances of Mimi and Musetta. Most recently, she made her debut with Oper Frankfurt.

This season, Ms. Tetrashvili sings Magda in La rondine with Sarasota Opera. In addition, she will be heard in concert with the Richard Tucker Music Foundation.

Feeling equally at home with concert and recital, Lina has been involved in numerous Liederabende with the Chautauqua Music Festival, the Juilliard School in conjunction with Alice Tully Hall, the Curtis Institute of Music, and with the Caramoor Music Festival’s Rising Stars series in Respighi‘s Il tramonto. Recent concert appearances in Europe include a grand gala concert with Malmö Opera. Other concert credits in Europe include a Liederabend with Oper der Stadt Köln, as well as concerts in Moscow and Tbilisi.

Lina Tetruashvili hails from Tbilisi, Georgia. Since moving to the USA, Lina has received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the Juilliard School as well as her Master of Music in Opera Degree from the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. She has performed in numerous productions with the Juilliard School and Curtis Institute, respectively. Her collegiate opera credits include Susan B. Anthony in Thomson’s The Mother of Us All, Rose Maurrant in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.
