Olga Trifonova started her career at the stage of the Mariinsky while being a first year student of the Conservatoire in vocal class of professor Gagen Valentina Nikolaevna. And also thanks to the fact that in competition of Rimsky Korsakov, the voice of Olga noticed Larisa Gergieva, in the future CEO of the Academy of Young Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre, as well as the founder of the international competition of young singers, named Rimsky Korsakov Olga was invited to the Mariinsky. Working with Larissa Gergieva as a coach and leading pianist of the Mariinski theater, Olga often performed in various concerts and participated in trips where Larissa Gergieva representing young novice singers.

In 1994 at the I International Competition of Young Singer by N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov Olga got «Hope» diploma as the youngest and the most promising participant. Having brilliantly performed the aria of the Queen of the Night at the Gala concert, at the age of 20 Olga got invited to the Mariinsky theatre where she first sang in the performances of «Le Nozze di Figaro»(Barbarina),and next part also «Il Barbiere di Seviglia»(Rosina), «Die Zauberflote»(Konigin der Nacht),«Betrothal in a Monastery» (Luisa). By the time she graduated from the Conservatoire in 1998, due to assiduous studying and fruitful cooperation with experienced coaches and stage directors, and thanks to doubtless victories at various competitions, Olga had become one of the leading soloists of the Mariinsky,having performed such difficult parts as Strawinsky’s “The Nightingale” (Le Rossignol), Ludmila at “Ruslan and Liudmila” by M.Glinka, Amina at “La Sonnambula” by Bellini, Snow Maiden at the “Snow Maiden” by N.Rimsky-Korsakov. Olga was awarded «the Debut of the Year» diploma in 1996 for the part of the Nightingale and performed it with Valery Gergiev at the Lincoln Center (New York), where the critics praised her youth, artistry and virtuosic vocal. Later Olga will participate in recording of this opera with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Craft in London (1998). She also sang Ludmila with V.Gergiev at the Mariinsky and Metropolitan Opera, and after this successful debut was invited to the Metropolitan again to perform in the «Queen of Spades», with Placido Domingo (German). In 1999 especially for Olga Trifonova the Mariinsky staged the «Snow Maiden», and for many years she remained the lead.Chronological events

•Prize-winner at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers’ Competition (St Petersburg, 1996 Grand-Prix).
•Prize -winner at the I - International by Television’s Young Opera Singers Competition , name of ”Irina Arkhipova”, by the 850th anniversary of the founding of Moscow (Moscow, 1997, Grand-Prix).
•In March 2008 Olga Trifonova was awarded the highest honour of Russia: President Putin named her ”Honoured Artist of Russia”.

1998 (In summer ) -Olga made her Salzburg Festival debut as Klingsor’s Flower Maiden (Parsifal).
1998 In January - she performed as Prilepa (The Queen of Spades) at the Metropolitan Opera.
In 1999 - she took part Amina, in the new production of opera ”Sonnambula” by Bellini, at the Mariinsky theatre, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.
Also in 1999 Olga was invited for Xenia ”Boris Godunov” (with Ferucio Furlanetto starring Boris) Opera di Roma (Italy).
In 2000 Olga sang Lucia ”Lucia di Lammermoor” opera by Gaetano Donizetti , Production by David Doiashvili.
2001 - Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera)Verdi, at the Opera di Parma(Italy), Production by Andrei Konchalovsky.
In 2002 - Fiakermilli (Arabella) Richard Strauss, Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, with Karita Mattila (Arabella), Thomas Hampson (Mandryka), Barbara Bonney (Zdenka), Günter Missenhardt (Graf Waldner), Cornelia Kallisch (Adélaide), Hugh Smith (Matteo), Endrik Wottrich (Elemer), Olga Trifonova (Fiakermilli), Sarah Walker (Kartenaufschlägerin) et al. Christoph von Dohnányi conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Other roles Olga Trifonova has performed throughout the world include: In the 2002-2003 season, Olga Trifonova sang Shemakha Queen at the opera ”The Golden Cockerel” (directed by E. Ichikawa, Théâtre du Châtelet, France).
In January 2003, in Graz (Austria) she sang the roles of Cleopatra by the opera of Domenico Cimarosa ”Cleopatra”.
In 2003 opera ”Gianni Schicchi ” Lauretta Giacomo Puccini, production by Walter Le Moli.
In summer 2003 - Marfa (The Tsar’s Bride; Bordeaux Theatre, France) directed by T. Chkheidze.
In Аutumn 2003 Olga Trifonova took part in a production of this opera at the Théâtre du Châtelet, France.
In 2004 she appeared as Marfa in the premiere performance of The Tsar’s Bride at the Diaghilev Festival in
Groningen ( directed by Yuri Alexandrov, conducted by Valery Gergiev).

Also in 2005 she sang Le Rossignol (”Le Rossignol” production of San Francisco Simphony, conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, USA).
