The Swedish mezzo-soprano, Paula Hoffman, got her vocal education from Professor Solwig Grippe at the Royal University College of Music and University College of Opera in Stockholm. She graduated in 1992 (or 1993). She has received many scholarships and awards, and was finalist in several international singing competitions

Paula Hoffman tries to share her talents between singing of opera and Lieder, although most of her engagements are in the area of opera. Her repertoire varies from Baroque to contemporary music. In 1994 she appeared at the Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) in Stockholm. She also participated in the special project of “Vetllada Experimental”, a series of three concerts that presented Lieder of new form. She collaborates regularly with the Baroque ensemble Capella Nuova.
Paula Hoffman has performed in most Swedish concert halls, particulary singing singing Mozart and Rossini. She has also been engaged by most opera houses in Sweden such as The Royal Opera of Stockholm, the Theatre of Music in Malmo and Drottningholm Palace Theatre, etc. During 1991-1992 she performed the role of Beta in Banckantema by Daniel Börtz, with the Royal Opera in the Swedish Television, directed by Ingmar Bergman. With the Theatre of Music in Malmo she sang Dorabella in Cosí fan tutte in 1993-1994.
Paula Hoffman sang also abroad: in 1989 at the Wexford Opera, she sang Ducnna of Prokofiev, in 1995 she appeared at Innsbrück Festwochen der Alten Musik under the direction of René Jacobs. Recendy she sang at the We1sh Nationa1 Opera. During three seasons l995-1996 she sang various roles at the Royal Opera of Stockholm: Cherubino in Les Noces de Figaro, Orloffsk in Die Fledermaus, Smart Gammel, in Pelle Svansiös. At the Musical Theatre of Malmo she sang Rosina in Barber de Seville, directed by Arturo Corso and post in scene by Dario Fo. She also participated in productions of Israel in Egypt by George Frideric Handel, Requiem and C minor Mass by Mozart, Somni of Gerontius by Edward Elgar and the 9th Symphony of L.v. Beethoven. During the season of 1996-1997, she sang in Barber de Seville in Malmo; in 1997-1998 she sang Sextus in La Clemència de Titus, at the Opera of Cardiff directed by Charles Mackerras.
Paula Hoffman is represented in TV, radio and on gramophone.
