Runi Brattaberg bass from Faraeos first graduated as a documentary photographer in Copenhagen, before he trained to become a singer. He studied at the Sibelius Akademia in Helsinki from 1997-99 and at the International Operastudio in Zürich from 1999-2000 After his first engagements in Mainz, Ulm, Detmold and Bern, he was engaged from 2009-2011 at the Nationaltheatre Mannheim, where he sang: Gurnemanz, Hagen, Hunding, Fafner, Veit Pogner, König Heinrich, Basilio, Timur, Sparafucile,  Sarastro, Baron Ochs und Osmin. He sang as a guest at  Nationalopera Amsterdam, La Monnaie in Bruxelles, Opera Lausanne, Theater Bonn, Aalto Theater Essen and at Opera Bastille in Paris./em>

In May 2011, Rúni Brattaberg replaced the ill Kurt Rydl as Baron Ochs  in Amsterdam, under the baton of  Sir Simon Rattle.His repertoire contains important Bassparts like : King Filipp, Padre Guardiano, Ramphis, Banco, Rocco, Seneca, Kaspar, Il Commendatore, Prince Gremin and Doktor from„Wozzeck“In March 2013 he starred at the Metropolitan Opera HD Live transmission worldwide, as  “Titurel“ in Richard Wagners „Parsifal”, under the baton of Daniele Gatti.This year he is making his debut at the Cincinnati Opera as Baron Ochs in „Der Rosenkavalier“ and the Chicago Lyric Opera as „Titurel“ in „Parsifal“.
